God's Return Policy
Bible talk for a Child Dedication Service

Return Policy Signs (you can find them online.)
Scripture: "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in the
truth" 3 John 1:4.
I brought some signs with me today. What do you think they are for? That's
right; they are store return policy signs. Did you know God has a return policy for kids? Do you know what a baby dedication is?
It's a time when parents dedicate themselves to raising their kids in the ways of God. Our kids are a gift from God and they belong to Him. Most of your parents were overjoyed when you were born.
That's right, I said MOST. Some of your parents were like me, scared to death. When my oldest son was born and the nurse handed him to me, I wanted to hand him BACK. It was scary to realize that I was responsible for this tiny human being. Soon after, my husband and I participated in a baby dedication at our church--like the one we are having today. I realized that God has a return policy for kids and we should give them back to Him. It is our responsibility as parents to raise them in church and in the ways of God, and He will take care of the rest.
We have several examples of children being given back to God, including Abraham giving his child Isaac back to God when he went up the mountain to sacrifice
him on the altar. We all know how that story turned out! God blessed Abraham because
he trusted God to care for Isaac. And the plan for Isaac was so great that Jesus, our Savior, was
Isaac's great, great, great "X 38" grandson!
When your parent's dedicate you to God, great things happen. (Today, my oldest son is dedicating his first son to God!)
