Memory Verse
"Always speak with kindness. Use gentle words that help others, and know the right thing to say to everyone" Colossians 4:6.
Have you ever shot an arrow and then wanted to grab it before it hit the wrong thing? It’s impossible! That’s just like our words. Once we speak them, we can’t pull them back. That’s why the Bible says to use kind and gentle words, and to think before we speak.
Words are like arrows. If we’re not careful, they can hurt someone’s heart. But if we aim with love, our words can bring hope, healing, and happiness.
So aim carefully! Let every word you say be helpful, loving, and true!
Talk About It
What kind of arrows are you sending out with your words?
How can you aim your words with kindness this week?
Prayer
Dear God, Help me aim my words like arrows full of kindness. Teach me to pause and think before I speak,
so my words help and never hurt. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Activity
Use small balls as "arrows" to hit a target. You could have multiple
targets for kids to hit. Title the targets: kind words, loving words, gentle
words, healing words, etc.
Print the poster for children to take home.
